Only takes effect when RCM is Paid and ITC-eligible. Eligible RCM cess enters the separate Compensation Cess ITC ledger — it never joins the regular IGST/CGST/SGST pool and never reduces the RCM cash liability it arose from. Verify actual eligibility and GST portal treatment before filing.
RCM tax remains payable in cash. Confirmed eligible RCM ITC may be claimed only subject to payment, eligibility, documentation and applicable return-period rules.
Working estimate only. The method is displayed in the summary and PDF.

Working summary only. This report is a computational working summary and is not an official GST return, tax payment instruction, professional tax opinion or substitute for records on the GST portal. The utilisation engine applies a Rule 88A-based sequence using the information entered. Actual filing treatment, ITC eligibility, portal balances, reversals, restrictions and return-period treatment may differ. Verify all figures and ITC eligibility before filing or making payment.

FAQs
Is this an official GSTR-3B or GSTR-1 filing?
No. This is a monthly working summary and reporting tool. Use it to prepare and cross-check figures before filing on the GST portal.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Entered transaction figures are not intentionally sent anywhere. Google Analytics and the PDF library are loaded from the internet — analytics receives standard usage/device information, not your transaction values. Clearing browser data will erase saved months — export your JSON backup first.
How is ITC utilised?
The tool applies a Rule 88A-based sequence as a working estimate: IGST ITC is used first against IGST liability, and any remaining IGST ITC is then used against CGST and SGST/UTGST liability in the order you select. CGST ITC is used against CGST liability and any remainder against IGST — CGST ITC is never applied against SGST/UTGST. SGST/UTGST ITC is used against SGST/UTGST liability and any remainder against IGST — SGST/UTGST ITC is never applied against CGST. Reverse charge, late fee and interest are always cash. Compensation Cess ITC is maintained in a separate ledger and may be used only against Compensation Cess liability. It cannot offset IGST, CGST or SGST/UTGST, and regular IGST, CGST or SGST/UTGST ITC cannot offset Compensation Cess. RCM cess remains payable in cash. Eligible RCM cess may enter the separate Cess ITC ledger only after payment, subject to eligibility, documentation, the selected inclusion setting and applicable GST return-period rules. Verify all amounts and eligibility against GST portal records before filing. This tool is a working summary, not professional tax advice.
Why does the PDF show "INR" instead of the ₹ symbol?
The rupee glyph is not present in the built-in PDF font. To keep every generated report readable everywhere, we use "INR" in the PDF and on the summary.
Can I use this for multiple businesses?
Yes. Change the GSTIN and business name, save the month, and repeat. Each saved month keeps its own GSTIN. Businesses without a GSTIN save under their business name.
What are the supported limits?
Up to INR 99,99,99,999.00 per amount field, 1,000 rows per table, 240 saved months, 200-character descriptions and 2,000-character notes. Values outside these limits are rejected with an error — they are never silently changed.

📘 User guide — Monthly GST Summary
The user guide is available in English.
A working summary for filing prep. Not an official GST return — always verify against the GST portal before filing.
1. Quick start
Enter your GSTIN and return period in section 1. (No GSTIN? Tick "Internal report".)
Add your sales in Outward (Sales): description, taxable value, rate, and Intra or Inter. Leave the tax cells empty — they calculate themselves.
Add your purchases in Inward (Purchases) the same way, and set ITC eligible to No for blocked credits.
Enter opening ITC, reverse charge, late fee and interest in section 3 if they apply.
Read Monthly summary — the orange Estimated cash requirement is what you would need to pay.
Click Save month, then Generate PDF report.
Worked example. One intra-state sale of ₹1,00,000 at 18%, one eligible intra-state purchase of ₹40,000 at 18%.
Output: CGST ₹9,000 + SGST ₹9,000. ITC: CGST ₹3,600 + SGST ₹3,600.
Cash: (9,000 − 3,600) × 2 = ₹10,800.
2. Business & period
Field
What it does
Business / Legal name
Printed in the PDF header. Remembered on this device.
GSTIN
Checked for structure and checksum. An invalid GSTIN blocks Save, Print and PDF. No GST portal lookup is performed — a valid checksum does not mean the GSTIN is registered.
State / UT
Auto-filled from the GSTIN. If you change it to something else you must tick the confirmation box.
Return period
Required. One saved record per GSTIN + month.
Internal report
Lets you produce a report with no GSTIN, for internal review.
3. Line items
Enter one row per invoice, or one row per rate slab if you are aggregating from your books. Both work — the maths is identical.
Column
Notes
Description
Optional. Up to 200 characters. Appears in the PDF.
Taxable (INR)
Value before tax. Digits with up to 2 decimals.
Rate %
0 to 99. Typically 0, 5, 12, 18 or 28.
Type
Intra = same state → CGST + SGST. Inter = different state → IGST.
IGST / CGST / SGST
Leave blank to auto-calculate. Type a figure only to override.
Cess
Compensation Cess. Never auto-calculated — enter it if it applies.
ITC eligible (purchases)
Set to No for blocked credits under Section 17(5) — motor cars, food and beverages, club membership, works contract for immovable property, and so on. The row still appears in the report, but its tax is excluded from your ITC.
The + 0/5/12/18/28% rows button adds one pre-set row per common slab — handy when you aggregate by rate.
4. Blank vs zero — the one rule to remember
A tax cell behaves differently depending on whether it is empty or contains a typed 0.
You enter
Result
Use it for
(empty)
Calculated from taxable × rate
Almost always — let the tool do the work
0
Stays exactly zero
Nil-rated, exempt or non-GST supplies
1234.50
Used exactly as typed
Matching an invoice that rounds differently
Example. Two rows, both ₹1,00,000 at 18% Intra. Row A's CGST cell is empty → ₹9,000. Row B's CGST cell contains 0 → ₹0. That difference is deliberate.
If a typed figure differs from taxable × rate by more than 2%, you get an advisory warning before the PDF. You can continue — it is a prompt to check, not a block.
5. Adjustments & reverse charge
Opening ITC is the credit carried forward from last month, per head.
Reverse charge (RCM) is tax you owe as the recipient — goods transport, legal services, imports and similar.
RCM is always payable in cash. Existing ITC never reduces it, no matter how large your credit balance.
RCM credit is only shown when RCM paid = Yes andITC-eligible = Yes.
It is only added to this period's ITC when you also set Include confirmed eligible RCM ITC to On. This defaults to Off because the correct claim period depends on your circumstances.
Credit arising from an RCM payment never reduces that same RCM cash liability.
Late fee and interest are always cash — ITC can never be used against them.
6. Compensation Cess
Cess runs in a completely separate ledger:
Cess ITC can only be used against cess liability.
It can never offset IGST, CGST or SGST — and they can never offset cess.
Purchase cess only enters the ledger when that row is ITC-eligible.
Example. Output cess ₹15,000; eligible purchase cess ₹6,000; regular ITC ₹2,00,000.
Cess ITC used ₹6,000 → cess payable in cash ₹9,000. The ₹2,00,000 of regular ITC cannot touch it.
7. How ITC is used
A Rule 88A-based working estimate:
IGST credit against IGST liability first.
Any IGST credit left over against CGST and SGST, in the order you pick in ITC utilisation method.
CGST credit against CGST, then IGST. Never against SGST.
SGST credit against SGST, then IGST. Never against CGST.
Cess separately; RCM, late fee and interest always cash.
The method you choose changes how the remainder is split between CGST and SGST — it never changes the total.
Actual portal treatment, eligibility, reversals and return-period rules may differ. Verify before filing.
8. CSV format
The fastest way to get a header row that is guaranteed correct is to click 📤 Export CSV on a table — even an empty one — and use that file as your template. Or download a filled sample in the next section.
The header row is required. Column order may vary; names are matched case-insensitively.
A description containing a comma must be quoted: "Widget, large". A quote inside is doubled: "He said ""hi""".
UTF-8 with or without BOM; CRLF or LF line endings. Excel's "CSV UTF-8" works.
Rejected rows: invalid or negative numbers, scientific notation such as 1e6, more than 2 decimals, rate above 99, an unknown Type, a description over 200 characters.
Import is all-or-nothing: you see a preview of valid and rejected rows first, then choose Append, Replace or Cancel. If you cancel or it fails, your table is untouched.
Old purchase files without a Cess column still import — cess is simply left blank.
9. Sample CSV files
Download a filled example, open it in Excel or Google Sheets, replace the rows with your own data, then import it back.
What the sales sample contains
Description,Taxable,Rate,Type,IGST,CGST,SGST,Cess
Intra-state sale - tax auto-calculated,100000,18,Intra,,,,
Inter-state sale - tax auto-calculated,50000,18,Inter,,,,
"Widget, large - comma needs quotes",25000,12,Intra,,,,
Nil-rated supply - explicit zero,20000,0,Intra,,0,0,
Cess-bearing sale - cess typed in,40000,28,Intra,,,,4800
Each sample row demonstrates one rule from section 8 — auto-calculation, quoting, explicit zero and cess. The purchases sample adds eligible and blocked rows.
10. Saving & backup
Save month stores the report in this browser, keyed by GSTIN + period. Saving the same period again updates it.
Load reopens a saved month. You are warned first if you have unsaved changes.
PDF from the list prints that month and puts your working report back exactly as it was.
New month clears the figures but keeps your business details.
Saved months live in this browser only. Clearing site data, switching browser or using private mode loses them. Click 📤 Export all (JSON) regularly — that file is your backup and restores on any device.
11. PDF & print
The PDF repeats the on-screen figures exactly, with tables, the ITC utilisation breakdown, closing balances, reconciliation status, your notes and a disclaimer on every page.
Amounts show as INR because the ₹ glyph is missing from the PDF's built-in font.
Hindi and other non-Latin scripts cannot be drawn by that font. If you use them you are warned and can cancel — use 🖨 Print instead, which preserves any script.
Print uses your browser and hides the buttons and menus automatically.
12. Limits & error messages

Blocking errors (red) stop Save, Print and PDF: invalid GSTIN, missing period, an Intra row carrying IGST, an Inter row carrying CGST/SGST, a state mismatch you have not confirmed, or an amount above the limit.
Advisory warnings (amber) simply ask you to confirm — for example a typed tax that differs from taxable × rate.
13. Privacy
Every figure you type is processed and stored in this browser only. Nothing you enter is sent to a server. Analytics records that the tool was used — never your GSTIN, business name, amounts or notes. Fonts and the PDF library load from the internet, so a connection is needed for those.
14. Troubleshooting
Problem
Cause and fix
Tax cells show 0 instead of calculating
Something was typed in them. Clear the cell completely to restore auto-calculation.
"GSTIN checksum failed"
A typo. The 15th character is a check digit — re-read the GSTIN carefully.
ITC is lower than my purchase tax
One or more rows are set to ITC eligible = No, so their tax is correctly excluded.
Cash requirement did not drop after adding ITC
Check the head. CGST credit cannot pay SGST, and regular credit cannot pay cess.
CSV import rejected everything
Header row missing or misspelled. Export a CSV from the tool and copy its header exactly.
PDF button says "failed to load"
