## Questions and answers from the visible page

### How is the selling price calculated from a margin?

For a target margin, selling price excluding GST is cost divided by one minus the target margin. A 30% margin on a ₹700 cost gives a ₹1,000 selling price.

### How is the selling price calculated from markup?

For a target markup, selling price excluding GST is cost multiplied by one plus the markup rate. A 30% markup on ₹700 gives a ₹910 selling price.

### Does the tool add GST?

Yes. The target selling price and profit are shown excluding GST; the selected GST rate is then added separately to show the customer-facing price.
